Springfield Armory XDS Trigger & Sear Housing Disassembly

- Springfield Armory does not recommend further disassembly of the frame. "Further dismantling is not necessary and should only be done by Springfield, Inc. or a qualified pistolsmith". Pg 26 XDS operation and safety manual.

The following step are for the complete 100% disassembly of the Springfield Armory XDS pistol. The disassembly procedure will be spit into 6 parts focusing on the different assemblies and areas of the pistol.
We will first remove the trigger assembly from the sear housing. To do this pull the trigger bar forward and then out of the housing as shown above center. The crucifix are of the trigger bar rest inside of the slot of the sear.
With the trigger bar removed the sear is now limp and the sear spring attached to the sear is no longer pulling on the grip safety pin. The grip safety pin can easily be pushed out of the sear housing in either direction top center.
